Morning in Cadiz

Today we decided to stay in Cadiz so had time to try out the juice maker at breakfast time.  After sheltering under a cafe's umbrella having coffee during a short downpour, we headed to
the eighteenth century Oratorio de Santa Cueva which contains three fine Goya frescoes. The church is divided into two contrasting parts.  The upper oratory has an elegant dome where the three frescoes can be seen.  They represent the Miracle of the Loaves and Fishes , the Bridal Feast and the Last Supper.  The other works here are depictions of biblical scenes by minor artists.

The lower chapel is darker and more sombre.  There is a crucifixion sculpture, an 18th-century work believed to have inspired Joseph Haydn to write the score of Seven Last Words for the Catedral de Cádiz.
