Lunch in Cadiz

Before lunch:  the Museo.  We were interested to see many exhibits from the Roman and Islamic days of 'Gades' but the highlight was the collection of Zubaran.

There was plenty of noise coming from the market.  Intrigued we wandered in to find hoards of Gaditanos having food, drink and fun from food stalls.  We settled for the Cordoban produce of Taperia  Lula.  Reasonable prices,  excellent taste and great service.

We started with berenjenas y miel

Then my companion had a montadito with jamon and I enjoyed salmorejo de almenderas.  Delicious.

The beer is from Cervezas del Mundo

Home via a look around the light and airy Cathedral.

The Santander van has gone away.  La Catedral Nueva is baroque and neoclassical and was built between 1722 and 1838.  There are nets below the ceiling to collect, we presume, pieces of the crumbling sandstone roof.  La Catedral Vieja built by Alfonso X has been downgraded to the parish church of Santa Cruz which is situated nearby.  We may look later, but first off to the beach, the sun is out!
